THEY SHALL BECOME ONE FLESS: MARRIAGE SUPPORT GROUP
“They shall be one flesh” marriage support group is a biblically based, program designed to help, heal and renew married couples who are drifting, who have drifted apart or maybe just preventative maintenance. Our program offers you the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse and a loving relationship in your marriage.

“They shall be one flesh support group” offers activities and experiences designed to give married couples the opportunity to learn a technique of loving communication that they can use for the rest of their lives. It’s a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and with God. It’s a time to share their feelings, hopes and dreams with each other.

We emphasize on key components between husbands and wives. We have planned outings that provide an environment conducive for couples to spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, while encouraging them to focus on each other and their relationship. We have a unique approach aimed at revitalizing marriage. Our planned outings are a time for you and your spouse to be alone together, to rediscover each other and together focus on your relationship. Every marriage deserves that kind of attention!

Who can be a part of this group?
Any married couple who desires a richer, fuller life together. A marriage can never be too good. “They shall be one flesh” is designed to deepen and enrich the joys a couple share together, whether they have been married for only a short time, or for many years.

What happens at a session?
A series of lessons are taught by Dr. H. Evan and Mrs. Regina Smith. Married couples will give testimonies. There will also be other presenters to come in and encourage couples. Each presentation allows you and your spouse a rare opportunity to look at yourselves as individuals, then to look at your marriage and relationship to one another, and finally to look at your relationship to God and to the world. The session starts at 7 p.m. on Friday night and runs until about 9 p.m. on. Snacks are provided.

How does “they shall be one” marriage support group enhance a marriage?
It will teach different techniques which permits each couple to explore important areas of their relationship in a spirit of love and understanding. By continuing the newly-acquired techniques learned in our sessions, husbands and wives continually grow closer together to live more joyful and purposeful lives. While not an essential part of the experience, the availability of a community of others who have shared sessions and who share similar values provides a supportive environment for even further growth.

How much are the sessions?
There is no fee, but we do ask that you give a free-will donation. This donation will cover the expenses of administrative assistance, rental, food, and materials for the session. No couple is ever denied the chance to renew their marriage because they are facing financial difficulties. This concern should not influence your decision to attend the sessions. “They shall be one flesh” marriage support group is an extension of The New Beginnings Community Development and Empowerment Corporation. Any contributions made on or in connection with the “They Shall be one” marriage support group are made confidentially.

• Reviewing the reasons you wanted to get married in the first place
• Keeping your commitment "till death do us part"
• Celebrating the differences between men and women
• Developing healthy emotional and sexual intimacy
• Managing conflict instead of avoiding it…living within healthy boundaries
• Communicating effectively with your spouse about kids, finances and relationships
